Going on safari often conjures up images of sleeping
in a tent. Die hard traditionalists insist that a
safari is not real unless it's spent under canvas.
Our Safari accommodations fall into three main
categories: hotels, found primarily in major cities
or in beach resorts; small, individual
"bush" lodges; and tented camps. It's easy
to confuse camping in Africa with the
rough-and-ready experience of your scouting days.
Typical tented accommodations often include
surprisingly luxurious amenities such as en suite
facilities, spring beds with crisp linens, and fine
dining.
A safari isn't the only way to explore Kenya,
Tanzania and Uganda. This region also offers
glorious beach resorts, mountain treks, desert dunes
capes and exotic tropical islands perfumed with
spice. All with comfortable temperatures year
'round, daily flights from the U.S. via Europe and,
courtesy of British influence, familiar foods and
many English speakers.
East Africa has always been the ultimate destination
for wildlife lovers. This has long been known as
home to Africa's famous "big five" (Lion,
Elephant, Rhino, Leopard and Buffalo) It's a title
well deserved, this it the absolutely best place in
the world to see the five species in their natural
habitat.
The abundance of wildlife is so much more. The
national parks, game reserves and private
sanctuaries in this part of the world are a marvel
to behold. From industrious dung beetles and
brilliantly colored butterflies to the world largest
vultures or a herd of elephant bathed in glowing red
dust, the sheer diversity is breathtaking.
You will find an incredible array of ecosystems,
each home to its own unique range of species: open
savannah, deep forest, soda and freshwater lakes,
alpine meadows, coral reef, caves, beaches, river
deltas and more…… come and experience a land
like no other. Beauty and variety."
Safari lodges in Kenya offer hotel-style comforts
and accommodation in the wild. Standards vary from
rustic to modern, from the simply appointed to
extreme luxury. The architecture for many game
lodges blends nicely into their environment. The
overriding emphasis is construction using all
natural local building materials as well as
traditional art and decor.
