7 DAYS/6 NIGHTS RIFT VALLEY LAKES

Day 1 — Nairobi » Lake Baringo
Depart from your city hotel and drive via the Great Rift Valley to take a panoramic view of the Great Rift Valley for escarpments and continue to Lake Baringo National Reserve arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon optional boat riding or bird watching around the lake. Dinner and overnight at Lake Baringo Club

Day 2 — Lake Baringo » Lake Bogoria
Breakfast at the club. Morning at leisure to do more bird watching. A short drive to Lake Bogoria National Reserve for lunch. Afternoon visit to hot water springs which are known as a major attraction in the park. You will also have an opportunity to see pink flamingoes and other birdlife. Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Bogoria Lodge.

Day 3 — Lake Bogoria » Lake Nakuru
Breakfast at the lodge. Depart and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game viewing drive around the lake to see famous pink flamingoes in their thousands and other bird life. You will also be able to see waterbuck, gazelles, impalas and many other plains game. The park also houses the White Rhino Sanctuary. Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Nakuru Lodge and Lion Hill Lodge.

Day 4 — Lake Nakuru » Lake Naivasha
Early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru. Return to the lodge for breakfast. Depart and take a short drive to Lake Naivasha for an early lunch. Rest of the day at leisure or take a boat ride if weather permits. There is abundant bird life here, for bird watchers. Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Naivasha Country Club or Lake Naivasha Simba Lodge.

Day 5 — Lake Naivasha » Masai Mara
Early morning departure to Masai Mara National Reserve, arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game viewing drive. Masai Mara is the northern extension of Serengeti National Park ecosystem. During the game drive you will be able to see prides of lions, large numbers of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, buffaloes and many other plains game. Dinner and overnight stay at Sarova Mara Camp or Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 6 — Masai Mara
Full day in the Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. One of the major attractions in the vast park is annual animal migration from northern Tanzania to Kenya across the Mara River. This event occurs between the month of July and October. Mara is known to team with abundant wildlife, and can easily see the BIG FIVE during game drives. All meals and overnight stay at Sarova Mara Camp or Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 7 — Masai Mara » Nairobi
Depart after breakfast and drive back to Nairobi arriving early afternoon.

The Great Rift Valley covers over 8,700 kms (5,400 miles) running from Jordan Valley in the Middle East and taking in the whole of the Red Sea before cutting through Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique and finally reaching the Indian Ocean at Beira near the Zambezi River.

In Kenya the Great Rift Valley is dotted with recent volcanoes like Mt. Longonot, Suswa, Menengai and many more. It also contains seven lakes all of which have no outlets. These are Lake Turkana (the Jade Sea), Baringo, Bogoria, Elementaita, Naivasha and Magadi.
